Creating Economic Opportunity
With a background in business and community development, I understand the importance of creating equitable economic opportunity, especially for women, minorities, and for those who have been historically underserved and underrepresented. I believe we can build a better Alabama by attracting new jobs to our state, raising wages, and keeping our cost of living down.
We must finish the job we started by fully eliminating our state's regressive tax on groceries and we must increase incentives for the construction of affordable housing. It’s time to cut the red tape for small and growing businesses and help them access the capital and resources they need to prosper.
By investing in improving our roads, bridges, and other vital infrastructure projects that cultivate growth, we can recruit new industries to our district and the state. It all starts with building a school-to-work pipeline, so that people in our own backyard can reap the benefits of economic growth. That’s how we build vibrant communities that thrive.
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
— Winston Churchill
